Expanded metal mesh, also called expanded metal sheet or expanded metal sheet, is an economical, highly functional metal product. It uses a unique one-piece punching and stretching process that is different from welded and perforated mesh. No raw materials are wasted during the production process.
Expanded metal mesh, also called expanded metal sheet or expanded metal sheet, is an economical, highly functional metal product. It uses a unique one-piece punching and stretching process that is different from welded and perforated mesh. No raw materials are wasted during the production process. Flat metal sheets are perforated and stretched to form stable diamond-shaped holes, creating a seamless, completely seamless design with no welds or weak points. This method provides high material utilization, low cost and excellent structural stability, effectively resisting deformation, tearing and weakening under prolonged pressure and impact.
It is available in a variety of materials to suit a variety of scenarios. Hot-dip galvanized carbon steel is the most economical choice for general outdoor and industrial use with reliable rust resistance. 304 and 316L stainless steel versions offer outstanding resistance to acids, alkalis and salts, ideal for marine, chemical, food and coastal projects. Lightweight aluminum expanded metal sheet is highly resistant to ultraviolet radiation and easy to form, widely used for architectural decoration, ceilings and ventilation grilles. A high-performance fluorocarbon surface coating is also available, providing superior weather resistance, corrosion resistance and self-cleaning ability, with a long service life of 15 to 20 years.
Universal in application, it covers industrial, construction and municipal areas. It serves as anti-slip flooring, stair treads and equipment guards in heavy industry. In construction, it is used as concrete reinforcement, solar control panels and partition screens. It is also commonly used in security guardrails, traffic barriers and anti-theft grilles, as well as filter elements, livestock screens and decorative panels, serving as a multi-purpose, essential metal mesh material.
● Material grade
Carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum alloy and other metal alloy sheets
● SWD (Short Distance Dimension)
The length of the short diagonal of a rhombus from the center of one nodal point to the center of another nodal point.
● LWD (Long Way Dimension)
The length of the long diagonal of a rhombus from the center of one nodal point to the center of another nodal point.
● SWO (Short Path Clearance)
The length of the short diagonal of the hole.
● LWO (Long Path Clearance)
Length of the long diagonal of the hole.
● Node
The intersection of two jumpers, always equal to the width of the two jumpers. Sometimes called a hinge.
● Overall thickness
Actual mesh thickness measurement measured at a node.
● Jumpers
The individual cut metal strips or sides of an expanded metal pattern.
● Jumper width
The quantity and dimensional length fed between the upper and lower mesh making tools.
● Lintel thickness
The thickness of the sheet or roll from which the expanded metal mesh was made. This is also the thickness of the material after thickening.
● LW (Long Path)
Long side of expanded metal
● SW (Short Path)
Short side of expanded metal
